I can still remember some Greece history back in high school. As far as I can remember, Hellas, the other name of Greece, is considered as the cradle of western civilization. It is also the home of the first Olympic Games. The famous philosophers like Socrates, Pythagoras, Aristotle, Heraclitus, Plato were only some of the great people who had contributed to western philosophy.
The Odeon of Herodes Atticus is a stone theatre structure located on the south slope of the Acropolis of Athens. This was taken by my friend Ritz during her visit to Athens, Greece
Greece has an ancient culture that contributed to the present western civilization. Mathematic principles, the arts, language, philosophy, politics, Western drama, western alphabets are only some of the factors brought by the influence of the ancient culture of Greece. It is simply a country full of history. These are also the reasons why 17 UNESCO World Heritage Sites are located in Greece.
There are a lot of things to do and see in Greece. For some, the beautiful island beaches are their choice. Others might want to see the wonder of Greek architecture and engineering in Athens. A visit to the mythic Mount Olympus can also be an exciting trip for hikers and adventurers. Its mountainous mainlands can also be a nice experience for trekkers. These are only some of the reasons why Greece has become one of the world's most popular tourist destinations.
I can't wait to visit this country soon. I might see you there!
